ETERNAL MEMORIES

Welcome to Ash to Urns

A couple of years ago my Jack Russel, Crumb, died after being constantly at my side for 17 years. When his ashes were returned to me in a cardboard tube it seemed only right to make something that was unique to him in order to celebrate our time together.

It took 2 years of making and testing combinations of ash, clay and glazes before Crumb's ashes had their final home.

Discover our exquisite collection of custom-made ceramic urns and vases, each carrying a meaningful blend of artistry and memories. Let us create a special tribute for your beloved pet.

Our Urns and Vases
Creating beauty at Alison West Ceramics
All of the Urns and Bud Vases have a design ethos that is firmly rooted in the work that Alison West has been developing over the last twenty years in her Dartmoor studio.

Alison creates distinctive vessels and tableware that capture the raw beauty of the natural world. Working with Cornish stoneware and locally sourced clay slips, Alison’s process is driven by experimentation, material interaction, and the transformative power of fire.

When you decide to buy an Urn or Bud Vase, we will send you a small container in which to place some of the cremation ashes, know as the cremains, and ask you to send them to us in the return envelope provided. These ashes are blended with the clay or glaze that from which your piece is crafted so it is important that you fill in all the details requested so that we can track the ashes right the process of making the vessel. Your urns or vase will be made incorporating these ashes in the clay so that it is uniquely forever linked to the departed pet and whose name will also be embossed on the base.
